Introducing Engine v2: Deeper, Sharper Domain Appraisals

By Appraise.net 2 min read 150 views

As promised, we've spent the season rebuilding the heart of Appraise.net — and it's live. Meet Engine v2, our biggest valuation upgrade yet.

We listened to feedback from domainers across the community — what felt off, what you wished it caught — and rebuilt the valuation engine around it. Here's what's new, with real before-and-after examples from names listed on our own marketplace.

What's new

  • Deeper analysis — v2 reads a name the way a seasoned broker would, catching meaning and nuance the old engine missed.
  • Sharper, calibrated values — tuned against real-world sales, so numbers land where the market actually is.
  • A tighter suggested retail range — narrower, more decisive low–high spreads you can actually price and negotiate against.
  • Comparable sales — real sales that back up the range, shown when available.
  • Faster — realtime appraisals in about 10 seconds (down from ~40), and big batches fly.
  • A distinctive new certificate — a refreshed, instantly recognizable look.

See it on real names

  • neputa.com — the old engine misread the word and dismissed it at ~$100. v2 recognized it for the travel destination it is: $9,500–$15,000. That's the deeper thinking at work.
  • merger.vc — barely moved: $65k–$95k then, $71k–$100k now. When the first read was already right, v2 just confirms it.
  • intubation.com — reined in from an over-optimistic $125k–$275k to a defensible $120k–$165k. Lower, but honest — still a strong six-figure .com.

A note on consistency

Because we keep improving, you may see a name appraise differently than it did before — sometimes by a lot, as neputa shows. If you've already quoted an old number to a buyer, a new one can land differently, and we don't take that lightly. But we'd rather reach the right value than protect an old one for the sake of looking consistent. Every upgrade makes the next appraisal sharper — and a quick refresh brings any older report up to the current engine.

Refresh your portfolio — free

To celebrate the launch, batch refreshes are free for subscribers through August 31, 2026. Re-run your names on v2 and see your own before-and-afters. Already refreshed a few? Compare old vs. new side by side, or refresh your portfolio now.

Back by request: appraised GoDaddy Closeouts

We've also restored our appraised GoDaddy closeout alerts — curated closeout picks with v2 valuations — for all active paid subscribers. You can manage it anytime in your profile.

This is the new core, not the finish line. We'll keep sharpening valuations and expanding what Appraise can do for you.
