What happens if my batch expires or gets stuck?
While rare (less than 1% of batches), sometimes the AI batch processing can take longer than expected or expire. Don't worry; we have automated systems to protect you and recover your results.
⚠️ What "Expired" Means
The AI batches have a 24-hour processing window. If processing exceeds this (usually due to very large batches or system load), the AI marks the batch as "expired." This doesn't mean your work is lost; we automatically recover all completed appraisals.
🤖 Automatic Recovery Process
Our system monitors all batches 24/7. When a batch expires or gets stuck, we automatically:
Download Results
Retrieve all completed appraisals from the AI (even partial results)
Save to Your Account
Completed appraisals are immediately saved to your history
Refund Incomplete Domains
Full credit refund for any domains that didn't complete
Award Bonus Credits
5% compensation bonus (min 50, max 500 credits) for the inconvenience
Email Notification
Detailed summary with compensation breakdown and resubmit options
💰 What You Get Back
When a batch expires, you receive:
- All completed appraisals - typically 70-90% of your batch
- 100% refund for incomplete domains (2 credits each)
- 5% bonus credits for the delay
- List of incomplete domains for easy resubmission
📊 Real Example
Batch: 1,000 domains (2,000 credits)
| Completed appraisals | 850 domains (85%) |
| Incomplete domains | 150 domains |
| Refund (150 × 2) | 300 credits |
| Bonus (5% of 2,000) | 100 credits |
| Total returned | 400 credits (20%) |
| Net cost | 1,600 credits |
| Effective rate per domain | 1.88 credits (6% discount) |
🔄 Resubmitting Incomplete Domains
After an expired batch, you'll receive an email with a list of incomplete domains. You have two options:
✅ Easy Resubmit
Use your refunded credits to resubmit incomplete domains. We provide a pre-formatted list you can paste directly into the batch upload form.
⏭️ Skip Them
If you don't need those specific domains appraised, simply keep the refunded credits for future use. No obligation to resubmit.
⚡ Preventing Future Delays
💡 Tips to Avoid Batch Expiration
- Keep batches under 3,000 domains during peak hours (9am-5pm EST)
- Split very large portfolios into multiple smaller batches
- Submit during off-peak times (evenings, weekends) for faster processing
- Remove duplicate domains before submission
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to do anything when a batch expires?
No! Everything is handled automatically. You'll receive an email with details, and all credits/results are already in your account.
How quickly are expired batches processed?
Our monitoring system checks every 30 minutes. Expired batches are typically recovered and credited within 1 hour of expiration.
Can I get a full refund if my batch expires?
You get 100% refund for incomplete domains + keep all completed appraisals + receive bonus credits. This is typically better than a full refund since you keep most of your work.
Why do batches expire?
The AI's batch API has a 24-hour processing limit. Very large batches or high system load can occasionally cause delays. This is an AI service limitation, not specific to Appraise.net.
🛡️ Bottom Line: Expired batches are handled automatically with full transparency. You keep all completed work, get refunded for incomplete domains, receive bonus compensation, and can easily resubmit if needed. No manual intervention required!
