What is the Auction Analyzer?

The Auction Analyzer (Beta) helps you make smarter bidding decisions by comparing current auction bids against your calculated maximum bid based on appraised values. See at a glance which auctions have room to bid and which are already over your limit. Unlike the Deal Analyzer which evaluates fixed-price listings, the Auction Analyzer is specifically designed for domain auctions where you need to know your maximum bid before the hammer falls. What do the Auction Analyzer columns mean?

The Auction Analyzer displays several columns to help you make informed bidding decisions: Current Bid The current highest bid in the auction, extracted from your pasted input. If no bid was detected, this shows "-". My Max Bid Your calculated maximum bid based on the formula: Max Bid = (Ratio% × Low Appraisal). This is highlighted in green and represents the most you should bid based on your strategy. Appraisal The appraised value range (low - high) from our appraisal database. Locked appraisals can be unlocked for 1 credit. Headroom The difference between your Max Bid and the Current Bid: Headroom = Max Bid - Current Bid +$X,XXX (green) = You have room to bid up to this amount more -$X,XXX (red) = Current bid already exceeds your max - avoid bidding

What do the Auction Analyzer ratings mean?

Ratings are based on how much of your maximum bid has been used by the current bid: 🟢 Strong Bid Current bid ≤ 25% of your max Excellent opportunity - lots of headroom to bid 🔵 Good Value Current bid ≤ 50% of your max Solid opportunity with comfortable bidding room 🟡 Fair Current bid ≤ 75% of your max Decent opportunity but limited upside 🟠 At Limit Current bid ≤ 100% of your max Approaching your maximum - bid cautiously 🔴 Over Limit Current bid exceeds your max Skip this auction - already too expensive for your criteria ⚪ No Data No appraisal available Run this domain through appraisal first

What are Auction Analyzer pro tips?

Get the most out of the Auction Analyzer with these expert strategies: Calibrate Your Ratio Start conservative (5-8%) and adjust based on your results. Domain flippers often use 5-10%, while end-users building a brand may go higher (15-20%). Time Your Analysis Re-analyze auctions as they near closing. Current bids change, and what was "Strong Bid" yesterday might be "At Limit" today. Sort by Headroom Click the Headroom column header to sort. Focus on auctions with the most positive headroom - these give you the most bidding flexibility. Export for Records Export your analysis before bidding. This creates a record of your due diligence and helps track which auctions you won vs. your calculated max. Respect the Red When headroom goes negative (red), trust your analysis. Auction fever causes overpaying - let those go and focus on better opportunities.

How do I use the Auction Analyzer?

Using the Auction Analyzer is simple - paste your auction listings, set your maximum bid ratio, and click Analyze.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Paste auction listings - Copy domain names with current bids from any auction site. The parser automatically extracts domains and prices from formats like:
- example.com $500
- another-domain.net 2.5K (ends in 2h)
- thirddomain.com - Current Bid: $1,200
2. Set your Max Bid Ratio - Use the slider (1-20%) to set what percentage of the low appraisal value you are willing to pay. For example, 10% means your max bid for a $50,000 appraisal would be $5,000.
3. Click "Analyze Auctions" - The system fetches appraisal data and calculates your max bid and headroom for each domain.
4. Review results - Sort by any column, check headroom values, and identify which auctions are worth bidding on.

Tip: Domains without appraisals will appear in the "Domains Need Appraisal" section at the bottom. Copy that list to run through Batch Processing first, then return to re-analyze.
