How to become a seller
Selling on the Marketplace is open to domains that meet a simple quality gate and to sellers who complete a quick payout setup.
Step 1: Check that your domain qualifies
A domain qualifies to be listed when its appraised high value is at least $15,000. Run an appraisal first; if the high end of the estimate meets that bar, the domain is eligible to list. Listing prices start at $500.
Step 2: Onboard as a seller with Stripe
We handle seller payouts through Stripe Connect, a secure and widely trusted payment platform. You complete a short onboarding to verify your identity and connect where your funds will be sent. Once approved, you can publish listings and receive payments.
Step 3: Choose how to publish your listing
There are two ways to prove ownership and go live. Your choice decides how buyers reach your listing. To understand the two channels behind this choice, see Two ways buyers find your domain.
Option A - Point your nameservers to us (recommended). Set your domain nameservers to ns1.appraise.net and ns2.appraise.net. This unlocks the standalone For-Sale Page at https://your-domain, served on its own certificate, so you capture direct type-in traffic straight to a focused sales page. Choose this to reach the highest-intent buyers who type your domain into their browser.
Option B - Verify with a TXT record (no nameserver change). Prefer not to touch your nameservers? Add a single _appraise-verify TXT record to prove ownership. Your listing goes live at appraise.net/marketplace/your-domain and is found through Marketplace browsing and filters. There is no standalone page at your domain in this option, so you do not capture direct type-in traffic. Choose this to list quickly and without any nameserver changes. You can switch to nameservers at any time to enable the For-Sale Page.
Step 4: Add an Escrow.com-verified account for high-value sales
For larger deals, buyers often prefer to settle through Escrow.com. When you are ready, add an Escrow.com-verified account so you can accept escrow-based payments with confidence. This step is optional at first and becomes valuable as your sale prices climb.
Our pricing stays simple as you grow: a flat 4% commission means you keep 96% of every sale, and the buyer covers payment processing.
